Liverpool and Wales legend Ian Rush was rushed to the Countess of Chester Hospital due to severe breathing difficulties. The football icon, aged 64, was subsequently admitted for urgent medical treatment.
Upon arrival, the former striker was sent directly to the intensive care unit (ICU). He spent 48 hours under close supervision before his condition began to stabilise.
Rush's illness is believed to be connected to a widespread outbreak of a highly contagious 'superflu'. This strain of influenza has been aggressively circulating and causing significant health issues across England.
