Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Joan Beringer registered a double-double in his G League debut on Friday, helping the Iowa Wolves in a loss to the Motor City Cruise.

Beringer produced 10 points, 11 rebounds and one assist in the 121-101 loss at Casey's Center. He finished by going 5-of-10 from the field before fouling out in nearly 20 minutes of work as the Wolves dropped to 7-5 to begin the season.

The 17th pick in the 2025 NBA draft showcased his athleticism and motor on offense, highlighted by an alley-oop slam in transition. He also displayed his versatility on defense after guarding multiple positions throughout his time on the court.

Beringer has played sparingly for the Timberwolves this season, totaling 18 points, 12 rebounds, two blocks and one assist in 37 minutes across nine appearances. He hasn't played for coach Chris Finch since logging eight minutes on Nov. 17.

The Timberwolves assigned Beringer to Iowa on Tuesday to see extended minutes, with playing time at a premium in the NBA. The team wanted him to get reps against high-level competition and stay in a rhythm on both ends of the court.

The organization was ecstatic to add Beringer to the roster as one of the top international prospects. The team will continue to explore opportunities for him in the G League to maximize his development throughout the season.
