RHODE ISLAND, USA — A shooting in the engineering building at Brown University on the second day of final exams left at least two people dead and eight injured and in critical but stable condition Saturday, Providence's mayor said. The Ivy League school issued an active shooter alert and urged students and staff to take shelter.
"The unthinkable has happened," Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee said during a press conference.
No one in custody at this time and police describe the suspect as a male "dressed in black." No weapons have yet been recovered.
