LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - On Nov. 29, a man led state troopers on a high-speed chase that ended when he crashed into a fence while smuggling undocumented immigrants, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Dash cam video from DPS shows a white van driving recklessly as the driver tried to escape troopers. The van got on I-35 and drove off the road during the chase.
The man driving the van was identified as Juan Antonio Aleman. The chase ended when Aleman crashed into a fence.
Body cam video shows multiple people getting out of the back of the van. According to troopers, Aleman was smuggling 10 undocumented immigrants.
Aleman told authorities he was going to be paid $2,000 to smuggle them. He was arrested and charged with smuggling of persons and evading arrest.
