FAIRMONT, W.Va. — Fairmont State University held winter graduation commencement ceremonies Saturday inside the Feaster Center on campus. Scores of students walked across the stage to get their diplomas and a quick picture with university President Dr. Michael Davis.
The traditional "Pomp and Circumstance" music was played as the students, faculty members, and administrative staff filed into the arena. The national anthem was performed by the Fairmont State Collegiate Singers and Community Choir. The Rev. Mike Estep gave the invocation following the musical performance.
Board of Governors representative Drew Paton welcomed all in attendance and spoke of his experience while attending Fairmont State.
