1Lake City, MN – An 81-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after shooting the owner of a Subway restaurant with whom he had an ongoing feud. William Piar faces multiple charges, including attempted first-degree murder and multiple counts of assault.
The shooting occurred Wednesday afternoon near the 1300 block of North Lakeshore Drive. Eyewitnesses indicated that Piar began firing a gun at the Subway building around 1:30 p.m.
A man, identified only as the restaurant owner, was shot in the abdomen during the incident. Reports suggest that Piar and the victim had been engaged in property disputes for years.
