COLLEGE PARK, Md. — For the first time in more than three weeks, the Wolverines had to play well in the second half to win.

They did, outlasting Maryland 101-83 on Saturday night at Xfinity Center.

Michigan improved to 10-0 overall and 2-0 in the Big Ten thanks to Yaxel Lendeborg’s 29 points, nine assists, eight rebounds, three blocks and two steals. Michigan overcame Maryland’s 14-pointers, eight from David Coit, who scored 31 points.

Second-ranked Michigan had won six straight games by at least 25 points and led by at least 20 in the first half in four straight. Saturday’s game followed a much different script. Maryland led by nine with 18:48 left.
