BIG RAPIDS, MI — Ferris State quickly found its footing on a frigid afternoon.

The top-ranked Bulldogs hosted Newberry in a NCAA Division II National Semifinal on Saturday, Dec. 13 at Top Taggart Field in Big Rapids.

The Bulldogs defeated the Wolves, 49-17, after scoring three unanswered touchdowns in the first quarter.

The Ferris State defense forced six turnovers, including five interceptions, and the offense out gained the Wolves on the ground 368-8.

No. 1 Ferris State (15-0) will face the winner of No. 2 Harding and No. 3 Kutztown in the Division 2 national championship game on Saturday, Dec. 20, at 4 p.m. on ESPN2.
