LAMPASAS, Texas — Authorities determined there was no safety concern directly related to the concerning comments made on a popular social media platform, the Lampasas Police Department announced Saturday.

The comments involved two middle school students. Officials say Criminal Investigations Division and School Resource Officers began investigating if a crime was committed and whether there was any credible safety concern for students or staff at Lampasas ISD as soon as police became aware.

According to Lampasas PD, the comments were made by students who did not fully consider the seriousness or potential impact of the statements. A meeting with the Lampasas County Attorney's Office found the comments did not rise to a criminal level and were not criminal in nature.
