The Montana State men’s basketball team battled close with Oregon State for much of Saturday’s contest at Gill Coliseum but ultimately fell to the Beavers, 67-57, in Corvallis, Oregon.
The Bobcats (4-7) trailed 29-27 at halftime but were outscored 38-30 by the Beavers (6-5) in the second half. Redshirt senior Patrick McMahon enjoyed a bounce-back performance on Saturday, tallying 17 points to lead the Cats in scoring for the third time in four games.
“I thought our guys battled today, but you have to credit Oregon State,” head coach Matt Logie said. “They have tremendous length and make shooting a high percentage very difficult on you. We’ve made some improvement in key areas like the offensive glass and rebounding margin that we won today, and that will be critical for us moving forward
