Delhi continues to choke under thick ‘toxic’ smog as air quality hits the ‘severe’ category on Sunday, severely reducing visibility and causing traffic disruptions. The capital registered an Air Quality Index of 460 today at 9 am this morning, as pollution sparked serious concern among the residents.

Multiple air quality monitoring stations across Delhi turned ‘red’, indicating ‘severe’ AQI. The high-pollution levels amid the chill weather forced residents to stay indoors, especially during the early morning. Delhi’s Nehru Nagar recorded an AQI of 500, while Ghazipur was shrouded by a layer of ‘toxic’ smog as the AQI dropped to 491 this morning, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB)
