MONTROSE, Pa. — December 13th, a frigid final day of rifle deer season saw a last-minute boost in business at Jeff Scavazzo's Deer Processing near Montrose .
"Everybody's out, the old saying, if it's brown, it's down today," said Jeff Scavazzo.
It's been a good two weeks for owner Jeff Scavazzo and his staff.
Last year, Scavazzo says hunters from across the area brought in 1,068 deer; this year, he expects to exceed that number.
"We are pushing toward 1000 right now. Beginning of the week when it was really, really cold, a lot of the guys didn't go out. We're only grabbing maybe 1012 a day, but today we got close to 55 in already."
From summer sausage, Slim Jims, and kielbasa, owner Jeff Scavazzo says this year they've been able to feed customers and area veterans.
