CHINA GROVE — Carson’s men’s basketball team put four in double figures and beat Salisbury 68-57 in an unusually big and unusually hyped early-season confrontation on Friday.
CP Perry (18), Jacob Mills (17), Drew Neve (16) and Will Hall (15) gave the Cougars ideal balance. With some of their normal scoring options quiet, the Hornets stayed in the game by riding a terrific outing from Jon Ross, who made four 3-pointers and scored 26 points. Braylon Taylor added 13.
The programs have not normally scheduled each other, with most of their meetings occurring in Christmas tournaments. When Salisbury beat Carson in an exciting final in the 2024 Dale’s Sporting Goods Sam Moir Christmas Classic, it marked the Hornets’ fourth straight victory
