ELKHART, Ind. (WNDU) - A South Bend man has turned himself in after being charged this week in a deadly hit-and-run motorcycle crash in Elkhart that happened this past summer.
44-year-old Eric Beal was charged on Tuesday with two felony counts in the July 10 crash that resulted in the death of 31-year-old Caleb Watson. Police say he turned himself in at the Elkhart Police Department on Saturday.
The crash happened near the intersection of County Road 6 West and John Weaver Parkway.
Watson, who was driving the motorcycle, died after being taken to the hospital. His passenger, a 25-year-old woman, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Beal was booked into the Elkhart County Jail after turning himself in. He faces the following charges:
