Edmonton: Two Indian students from the state of Punjab were shot dead in Edmonton, Canada on Friday morning. The police have claimed that it was a “targeted attack”.
The students have been identified as Gurdeep Singh (27), a resident of Bareh village, and Ranveer Singh (18) from Uddat Saidewala village in the Budhlada subdivision of Punjab’s Mansa district, as per timesnow.in. ADVERTISEMENT
The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has said that officers responded to reports of gunfire near 32 Street and 26 Avenue in southeast Edmonton at around 1.43 am. Upon reaching the spot, the police found two men with gunshot wounds. The officers attempted lifesaving measures until emergency medical services arrived, but both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
