The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday detained around 200 suspected over-ground workers (OGWs) of terror outfits as part of a massive crackdown in the Valley.

The J&K Police were supported by other security forces as they launched the operation against the OGW network in many areas of the Kashmir Valley. Several locations in and around Srinagar city were included in the raids, news agency PTI quoted the officials as saying.

During these raids, around 200 suspected OGWs have been detained, the report added. According to security agencies, OGWs provide logistical support such as cash, shelter and other infrastructure to terrorists.

The crackdown is a part of a sustained campaign to dismantle the terror network across the Valley, the officials added.
