There are currently no plans to expand firework control zones to create a citywide scheme following the success of the programme this year, it has been confirmed.
During Thursday’s full council meeting councillor John Daly asked how long it would take to review these zones alongside Police, Scottish Fire and Rescue and other community organisations.
The council introduced the firework control zones for the first time last month across three areas: Pollokshields , Govanhill and Broomhouse.
Councillor Laura Doherty said: “We did so following public consultation and engagement with Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
