Unfortunately for President Donald Trump, he tried to explain the “hoax” to a crowd in Pennsylvania this past week. He told them that what they were feeling in the grocery stores, at the gas pumps, in their landlord’s office and while Christmas shopping was an illusion. That’s a nice word for a hoax.

He wanted those folks to believe that they didn’t feel the real pinch of having no extra money to spend and no credit to rely upon. He wanted them to ignore the biting impotence that they feel when they are unable to care for their families and loved ones. You know, that promise of Am
