WASHINGTON — A shelter-in-place order at Brown University has been lifted , university officials said early Sunday, as police continue investigating a deadly shooting on campus.
In an alert sent just before 6 a.m., Brown said Providence police advised that the shelter order had ended for the entire campus. However, authorities warned that police activity is ongoing in areas still considered active crime scenes, and access remains limited.
Within the police perimeter, including Minden Hall and nearby apartment buildings, anyone who leaves will not be allowed to return, the university said. Community members were urged to follow all law enforcement instructions.
