A possible armed intrusion occurred Sunday morning at Youngstown State University's University Edge student housing, according to a YSU student alert.

The intrusion was reported shortly after 7 a.m., and the suspect allegedly left the area by 7:22 a.m., no longer posing a threat to the campus.

A second alert was issued at 8:14 a.m., stating that the area of the alleged intrusion had been searched by University Police and nothing was found.

The cause of the intrusion or whether anyone else was involved is unknown as of Sunday morning.
