New Castle County Paramedics helped rescue three people, two of whom were injured, after a fire at a trailer park in Middletown.

Paramedics were dispatched, along with personnel from Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown and the Odessa, Townsend and Port Penn Fire Companies, to the 700 block of Cleaver Farms Road in The Villagebrook Trailer Park around 1:15 p.m. Saturday.

A 77-year-old man was treated for burns and smoke inhalation, and a 75-year-old woman was treated for smoke inhalation and possible internal injuries.

Paramedics evaluated a third person at the scene, but that person refused transportation to the hospital.

The Delaware state Fire Marshal's office is looking into how the fire started.
