A student at Highland Middle School was arrested Saturday, Dec. 14 for making threats and was transported to the Medina County Juvenile Detention Center by deputies with the Medina County Sheriff's office.
The sheriff's office was contacted by staff from the school about the threat, according to a media release sent Sunday by the sheriff's office. The nature of the threat was not specified. The school resource officer worked with the deputies to investigate the threats, and it was determined that there was enough cause to make the arrest. School officials were notified of the results of the investigation.
The Medina County Sheriff's office stated in its media release that at no time was anyone in danger, and necessary steps were taken to ensure the safety of the students and staff.
