EUDORA, Ark. (KTVE/KARD) -- On Thursday, May 22, 2025, Arkansas State Police apprehended 40-year-old Richard Dewayne Pope of Oak Grove, La., in Eudora, Ark. According to authorities, Pope was a fugitive wanted for multiple violent felonies.
The Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s office notified the Arkansas State Police that Pope was the subject of a nationwide alert and considered dangerous due to his violent history. Officials were informed that he was traveling through Chicot County on a motorcycle.
At approximately 7:30 PM, authorities located Pope at a convenience store on Highway 65 South in Eudora. The arrest was made without incident, and Pope was taken to the Drew County Detention Center, where he is awaiting extradition to Louisiana.
