AUSTIN, Texas (KBTX) - After 140 days of debate, the 89th Texas Legislative Session has officially wrapped, and lawmakers from the Brazos Valley are heading home with some big wind and a few bills left on the table.

More than 8,000 bills were filed this session, but only a fraction made it through both chambers and to the governor’s desk.

Among them were key priorities for Governor Greg Abbott, including property tax relief, school vouchers, and border security, which now appear to be on track to become law.

Closer to home, local lawmakers also left their mark this session.
