RAY COUNTY, Mo - A Kansas City man made his initial appearance in Ray County Court this morning after leading authorities on a high-speed chase Sunday evening.
According to a probable cause statement, Richmond Police initially responded to a driving complaint of a group of motorcyclists surrounding a Chevrolet pickup truck and becoming aggressive towards the driver. Another 911 call reported a gun had been pulled by one of the motorcyclists.
A chase involving one of the motorcyclists, 24-year-old Tyler John Joy began on Spartan Drive and reached triple digits. The chase later entered into Layafette County where their sheriff deputies, Higginsville Police, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol joined the chase.
