WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Wednesday morning in Warwick, Mayor Frank Picozzi and members of the Warwick Police Department will set up red light cameras.
The city says a 30-day warning period starts for drivers Wednesday as the city gets the cameras operational.
Warwick officials found drivers were blowing through red lights in the hundreds, with the intersection of Post Road and Airport Road recording 508 red light violations in just 24 hours.
Mayor Picozzi will roll out the new camera program Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m., at the parking lot at Main Avenue and Greenwich Avenue.
