IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - The streets of downtown Iowa City are lined with musicians, food, and art this weekend for the annual Iowa Arts Festival, and this year, organizers are encouraging festival goers to give back to those in their community.

Over 100 artists are at the festival this weekend, selling a wide range of items, including ceramics, photography pieces, and paintings.

This year, Summer of the Arts has partnered with Houses into Homes, a non-profit organization that helps furnish homes for individuals exiting homelessness, domestic violence, or crises.

People attending the Iowa Arts Festival are encouraged to buy a piece of art from this weekend’s vendors and donate it to the Houses into Homes booth.
