Extensive clean-up works are underway after a horror crash which killed a 64-year-old pedestrian in Longsight .

Emergency services swarmed Slade Lane on Monday evening (June 9) after a car hit a man before ploughing into a bus stop and a shop .

Police were called out to the scene at 8.10pm. The man tragically died a short time after the collision, Greater Manchester Police says.

Officers arrested a 78-year-old woman on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. She remains in custody for questioning today (Tuesday).
