Drink driving limit to be slashed in road safety crackdown

The drink-driving limit could be cut across England and Wales in a Government plan to improve road safety. Ministers are drawing up a fresh strategy set for release this autumn, potentially marking the most significant overhaul of driving laws since the Road Safety Act in 2006.

The proposals on the table include slashing the drink-drive limit from 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath down to 22 micrograms, aligning with Scotland's current threshold.
