WILDWOOD — Police shut down a section of the Boardwalk on Friday afternoon in response to a bomb threat to an unidentified business many believed to be a pizzeria that recently was criticized online for having Nazi-affiliated stickers on its wall.
After a search, no bomb was located and the area reopened to the public, according to police.
Police Chief Joseph Murphy did not respond to a request for further comment.
Police did not identify the business, but multiple people in the community believe it to be Franconi’s Pizza, which has been at the center of controversy since a social media user posted images of stickers associated with Nazi history on a wall there.
There was no response to a message left with Franconi’s on Monday.
