FLINT, MI -- Days after Chief Terence Green said the Flint Police Department needs help in fighting gun violence, representatives from a coalition of community groups reported for duty.

Members of the Greater Flint Community Safety Collaborative went to work on Wednesday, Aug. 13, meeting in breakout sessions at the Church Without Walls and vowing not to have their work sidelined despite heartbreaking incidents like the downtown weekend shooting of an 18-year-old girl this past weekend.
