GRAYSON COUNTY, Texas — A convicted felon from North Texas has been indicted for unlawfully possessing a machine gun, according to federal officials.

Xavier Donnell Porter, 32, of Grayson County, was named in an indictment returned by a federal grand jury this week in the Eastern District of Texas charging him with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition and possession of a machine gun.

The indictment alleges that on Dec. 5, 2024, Porter was found in possession of a machine gun, the Justice Department said. The DOJ added that further investigation revealed Porter is a convicted felon and prohibited by federal law from owning or possessing firearms or ammunition.
