EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The Stumps at the Orchard event invited the public to hear from their elected officials and future political candidates.
US Senator Rand Paul, Congressman Brett Guthrie, and other Republican leaders were there, and Senator Paul says he was excited to celebrate with his fellow Republicans.
“This is a picnic I’ve been to several times,” Senator Paul said. “We like coming to Reid’s Orchard, we have a similar type of orchard in Bowling Green, where we’ve gone to for many years. A place like this is a big part of the community, and we like being able to come out here as Republicans and celebrate here.”
Senator Paul kicked the event off with a speech, touching on topics like power corruption, war, and government debt and spending.
