Faith leaders and others from across Virginia’s 5th Congressional District converged on the Lynchburg district office of U.S. Rep. John McGuire to protest his vote in favor of the One Big Beautiful Bill, and his support for other policies backed by President Donald Trump.
Protesters have been gathering outside McGuire’s office on a monthly basis since March, calling on the Republican congressman to hold an in-person town hall. More than 100 people showed up for Monday’s protest at the district office, the largest turnout since McGuire succeeded former U.S. Rep. Bob Good, R-5th, in January.
