CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A detention center officer has been charged after officials say he showed an inappropriate image of himself to an inmate.
The Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office says the incident happened on Saturday, August 16, at the county detention center. On Monday, it was reported to a supervisor.
An internal investigation led to 32-year-old officer Kenneth Goforth being brought in for questioning on Tuesday, August 19. He is now charged with Misconduct in Office and has been terminated.
“The actions of one individual do not reflect the integrity or professionalism of the men and women of the Chesterfield County Detention Center,” said Sheriff Cambo Streater in a statement.
