BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — West Nile virus cases are on the rise in North Dakota, with health officials confirming more mosquito-related infections across the region.
"If you are going to be doing things like mowing the lawn, if you're going to be golfing, if you are going to be watering your garden, doing those things outside particularly for extended periods of time, that's when you are really going to be wanting to do that and really paying attention to the time of the day," Michelle Dethloff, the director of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology for the North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services, said.
Right now, 33 cases of West Nile have been reported, with 19 of those people being hospitalized.
