CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A man will spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole after a jury found him guilty of a deadly shooting from April 2019, according to DA Spencer B. Merriweather.

Khdaius Marshall, 29, was tried for first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in the death of Tyrena Inman, 30.

On April 28, 2019, Marshall arranged to meet Inman at the Extended Stay Motel, where she lived with relatives. Officials say after they met, he pulled out a 9mm Smith & Wesson handgun and demanded money from Inman.

Inman was also armed with a Glock 9mm handgun, and the two exchanged gunfire.

Inman was shot in the head and died at the scene. Mashall was also struck.
