STATESVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A mother is accused of abducting an eight-month-old girl in Iredell County Wednesday night.

The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office alleges that 30-year-old Carmen Edith Rodriguez has unlawfully taken Samantha Roetzel from Cotswold Court in western Iredell County.

Deputies believe Rodriguez drove away in a black Kia K4 sedan with a Virginia license plate TCB-9808. The car is a Hertz rental. An unknown Hispanic female is alleged to be in the car as well.

Rodriguez may be headed in the direction of Mecklenburg County.

An Amber Alert is being sought in this matter. If you see this vehicle or know where Carmen Edith Rodriguez is you are asked to call 911.
