SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) -- Hundreds of workers at International Paper in Savannah and Riceboro walked into work Thursday morning to a shocking announcement.

The company will soon close the Savannah containerboard mill, the Savannah packaging facility, Riceboro containerboard mill and Riceboro Timber and Lumber.

According to the press release, the closure is estimated to leave over 1,100 workers unemployed.
