NEWARK - Airport service workers at Newark Liberty International Airport rallied in the rain on Wednesday to demand that airline service provider Alliance Ground International (AGI) address unsafe working conditions and protect employees from dangerous heat and workplace injuries.

The rally came as part of a nationwide “Heat Week” initiative organized by 32BJ SEIU, a branch of Service Employees International Union, to spotlight the urgent need for stronger protections for airport workers facing increasingly extreme summer conditions.
