U.S. Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) shared her perspective on the federalization of the Washington, D.C., police force, which the Trump administration initiated.

Speaking on California Governor Gavin Newsom’s podcast Wednesday, Crockett described the atmosphere in the nation’s capital as “very dystopian.” She drew a stark parallel to the television show “The Handmaid’s Tale,” an adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s dystopian novel, stating that she can no longer watch the series because it has become “too close to reality.”
