BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) -- A man was arrested after a teen boy died from his crash injuries in Livingston Parish.
Deputies responded to a crash at Magnolia Boulevard near Whiteleaf Street involving a car and a teen on a bicycle after 7 p.m. Thursday. The 15-year-old was airlifted to a hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Investigators determined that the driver, Juan Alfredo Chavarria Lezama, 31, was over two times the legal blood alcohol limit. He was booked into jail on charges of vehicular homicide, DWI 1st, reckless operation of motor vehicle, possession of alcohol in motor vehicle, no driver's license, and ICE detainer.
The sheriff's office said an investigation is ongoing.
