Bluestem Lake in southern Lancaster County is no longer under a health alert for toxic blue-green algae.
The state Department of Water, Energy, and Environment issued the alert Aug. 7 after samples measured above the toxin's threshold of eight parts per billion.
Certain strains of blue-green algae release the toxin total microcystin.
Bluestem State Recreation Area features 742 acres of land and a 325-acre lake located southwest of Lincoln.
Meanwhile, Cub Creek Lake in Jefferson County was put on alert after water sampled there measured above the state's threshold, according to a Thursday news release.
