Little Rock native Legenia Spiller-Bearden , along with her aunt Cynthia Goodman, won $10,000 after being crowned winners of last week’s episode of the Food Network show “Family Recipe Showdown,” hosted by Academy Award-winning actress Octavia Spencer.

The culinary competition show is centered around Southern cooking and set in New Orleans. Spencer’s co-host is Edgar “Dook” Chase, a restaurateur and executive chef of Dooky Chase’s Restaurant in New Orleans. Each episode features a celebrity guest judge with three teams of family duos competing to create some of the hosts’ favorite Southern dishes.
