LANDOVER, Md. — The Washington Commanders gave running back Brian Robinson Jr. his first chance at an NFL snap, but after three years, the team has decided to move on.
The Commanders are sending Robinson Jr. to the San Francisco 49ers for a 2026 sixth round pick, WUSA9 sports anchor Chick Hernandez confirmed Friday afternoon.
Robinson Jr. was drafted in round three of the 2022 draft. He did not have an easy road to get to the NFL. Shortly after he was drafted, he was shot in his knee during an attempted robbery in D.C. He had surgery and played 12 games with the Commanders while also rushing for 797 yards and two touchdowns that season.
Since his 2022 season, Washington has seen the same numbers from Robinson except for last season when he rushed for 799 yards and eight touchdowns. H
