LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A motorcyclist has died after crashing on a Lancaster County road Saturday night, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP).

The collision occurred shortly before 9 p.m. on Major Evans Road near JB Denton Road.

Troopers say the motorcyclist was driving east on Major Evans Road when they veered off the right side, overcorrected back onto the road, before they collapsed in the roadway.

The motorcyclist died at the scene. The identity of the deceased has not been made public.

The crash remains under investigation by the SCHP.
