Motorists and pedestrians can expect to see disruptions along Broadway Road from Mesa to Stapley drives this fall when a $61 million improvement project gets underway.

Council last week awarded the contract to Sundt Construction for phase one of the project, which is expected to begin at the end of September and take no more than 24 months to finish.

Portions of both Stapley Drive and Broadway Road will be affected by the project. City of Mesa

“It seems like we’re always improving Broadway Road,” Vice Mayor Scott Somers remarked at the council study session the week before the vote.
