HAMPTON, N.H. —

Hampton Beach was back open Monday with some restrictions in place after it was closed Sunday when a 17-year-old boy died after he was pulled out of the water.

Officials said ocean conditions were still dangerous, and they asked people to stay out of the water.

The warning came after a 17-year-old was pulled away by a strong current while in the water Sunday evening at Hampton Beach. Witnesses told officials that the teenager was swimming with his family when he got stuck in the current.

His father went after him to try to save him but also needed help.
