UTAH COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — A man was hoisted off the mountain and flown to the hospital after a paragliding accident at Mt. Timpanogos Monday morning.

At around 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 25, Utah County Search and Rescue responded to a paragliding accident on Mt. Timpanogos. A man had been paragliding in the area when he crashed, suffering a leg injury, according to Sgt. Ray Ormond, Utah County Sheriff's Office.

The terrain in the area is reportedly difficult to access, so Life Flight responded to airlift the individual from the mountain. The rescue helicopter hoisted the man and flew him directly to the hospital for further care.

The rescue operation took about an hour to complete, Ormond said.
