Australia Post has suspended shipping business parcels to the United States after President Donald Trump signed an executive order last month imposing tariffs on items under US$800 that had been exempt.
The suspension will affect business customers from sending packages to the United States that now require pre-payment of tariffs before arriving in America.
“We are disappointed we have had to take this action, however, due to the complex and rapidly evolving situation, a temporary partial suspension has been necessary to allow us to develop and implement a workable solution for our customers,” Australia Post executive general manager Gary Starr said in a statement.
Similar pauses have been enacted or are set to begin in the United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, France, Austria and I
